The Olympic medalist Doctor Daniel Aceves Villagrán, was unanimously elected president of the Association of Mexican Olympic Games, A.C. for the period 2023-2027, during the Ordinary General Assembly of the organization held in the COI Hall of the Francisco Márquez Pool.
Within the framework of the assembly, the statute of the association was updated and modernized with a social approach based on current regulations.
“We want to ratify the approaches that Mexican sports have and one year and a month after the Olympic Games in Paris open, to be able to uphold the values and virtues of the Olympic movement through its fundamental actors, who are the Olympians of our country,” highlighted the Olympic medalist in Greco-Roman wrestling in Los Angeles 1984, Daniel Aceves.
Aceves said that Mexico has had 2,133 Olympic representations in 28 editions of the Summer Olympic Games and ten in the Winter Olympic Games.
“Mexico has a heritage, a history, not only of hosting Mexico 1968, but of 73 Olympic medals, and this small, great elite army of those who uphold the values of Olympism at the national and international level.
