Combatting Covid
The WBC works to protect the health and well-being of all boxers, so Dr. Ricardo Monreal, Secretary of the WBC Safe Boxing Task Force, makes the following observations for fighters who have tested positive for Covid-19 :
Having a proven or suspected Covid-19 patient, you should do:
Laboratory exams
• Hematic Biometry
• Blood chemistry
• C-Reactive Protein
• Polymer D
Cabinet Exams
– Tele Chest X-Ray
– Computed Axial Tomography of the Thorax
– Electrocardiogram
– Echocardiogram
Likewise, every fighter before fighting again requires assessment:
– Cardiology
– Pneumology
– Neurological
– Psychological
This is because Covid-19 is a multisystem infection that affects all organs and not just the lungs.
