Copper gold and green defense for Edwards
Brit Charlie Edwards will defend his World Boxing Council flyweight belt, at the Copper Box Arena, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park of Hackney Wick, London, against Spanish Angel Moreno, on March 23 with a television broadcast by Sky Sports.
Spanish Moreno, promoted and supported by former middleweight champion Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez, has only lost twice in a 23-fight career and has never been knocked out. Coming from Madrid, Moreno has fought most of his career in his native land and knows Edwards very well, as they have had sparring sessions.
This will be the first defense of Edwards, who conquered the WBC fly belt with a points victory over Nicaraguan Cristofer Rosales last December.
