Oscar Valdez, a Mexican Olympic boxer in Beijing 2008 and London 2012, and is now a very successful pro fighter, is waiting to discover the name of his next opponent.
Valdez, Whois in Mexico City, wants that fight to be against Miguel ‘Alacrán’ Berchelt, who`s super featherweight champion of the World Boxing Council, commenting:
“Miguel Berchelt would be very hard and exacting. I have already faced dangerous rivals, so now it could be a timely opportunity to achieve my childhood dream of becoming champion of the World Boxing Council.”
Berchelt, 28 is aiming to make the seventh defense of his WBC super featherweight belt that he won against another Mexican, Francisco Vargas, in January 2017, and is undoubtedly one of the most established fighters in today’s world boxing.
Valdez (27-0, 21 KO), 29, last year stepped up to the super featherweight division, after a successful 126-pound campaign, where he made six successful defenses as the WBO champion.
