Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez defends his undisputed super middleweight crown against Jermell Charlo on Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, and the anticipation is already building to fever pitch throughout Mexico and in Houston, to astronomical levels!
The WBC has once again taken the initiative, by thinking big and showing even bigger, by adding image to substance. It`s launching a new campaign to promote this uniquely historic event. The WBC aired a 90-second promo on one of the largest screens in the world.
It`s in the World Trade Center in Mexico City, one of the most emblematic skyscrapers in the city. This iconic building can be seen for 10 kilometers, but also from air by flights arriving in Mexico City.
The screen has an area of 5000 square meters and the broadcast of the promotional card Canelo vs. Charlo, one of the most important for many a year, will continue during the days leading up to Saturday night.
It`s a fight between two Undisputed Champions and to signify this, the WBC will present the winner with the Puebla belt, a masterpiece created by artisans which combines the cosmogony of the Puebla culture, with all the most important elements representatives of that State. This is a magnificent gift from the WBC and Mexico to the world, as has been done since September 2017.
