Bryan Mercado is presented with his FECARBOX title

Newly crowned FECARBOX champion in the super bantamweight division Bryan Mercado received the belt that he won last Saturday defeating Antonio Tostado and it was Puerto Rican idol Miguel Cotto who presented it to him.

Visibly moved, Mercado said he was surprised and extremely flattered to be surrounded by great boxing stars Juan Manuel Márquez, Roy Jones jr. and Miguel Cotto who sponsored the new monarch.

“I am lucky to be here and to be able to shake the hands of my idols, three great world champions who are and will be the inspiration of many young people like me.

“I could not feel more fortunate and in front of them, the President of the most important organization, the WBC, Mauricio Sulaimán, and my team, I promise that this belt is only the beginning of a long and prosperous career, where I will seek to be the best and win the World Title.”

Bryan, who won by technical knockout in an exciting fight, expressed his desire to make a defense as soon as possible, because he knows that to become the best he must face the best and show why he is the new FECARBOX monarch.
