Former four-division world champion Adrien “The Problem” Broner defeated Bill “Hutch” Hutchinson by ten-round unanimous decision in the main event of a card hosted by Don King at the Miami Casino in Miami, Florida.
Broner was always in charge of commanding the actions.
The scores were 100-90, 99-91, 99-91 in favor of Broner, who only had his first fight in the last 28 months.
With this victory, Broner improved his record to 35-4-1, with 24 knockouts, while Hutchinson dropped to 20-3-4, 9 knockouts.
For his part, WBA NABA/WBC NABF light heavyweight champion Ahmed Elbiali (23-1, 18 KOs) outpointed Rodolfo Gomez (14-7-3, 10 KOs) over ten close rounds. Gomez was knocked down twice in the fourth round. The scores were 95-94 on the three judges’ scorecards.
And 42-year-old former two-division world champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (22-3, 15 KOs) of Cuba scored a seventh-round KO of previously undefeated Charlie Clemente (12-1, 5 KOs). A slow-paced game of chess ended abruptly when Rigo landed a body shot that sent Clemente to the canvas. The time was 2:47 minutes of the seventh round.
