Briedis determined  to recover WBC crown

The fighter from Riga, Latvia, Mairis Briedis (25-1, 18 KOs), as well as being a top contender in the cruiserweight division, works as a policeman in his country and has been recognized with a medal of honor for its sports work, but his current singular ambition is to be world champion once again.

Briedis has already savored the supreme adulation and plaudits.  Last year he was received by the President of Latvia, Raimonds Vējonis, recognizing him as the pride of the nation and an example for the youth.

Briedis is very motivated as this Saturday, he`ll have the opportunity to recover the world crown he lost against the Ukrainian Oleksndr Usyk, in which he offered a great fight.

Mairis will face Krzysztof Glowacki (31-1, 19 KOs), in the semi-final of the second World Boxing Super Series tournament in the cruiserweight division, at Arena Riga.the vacant  cruiserweight  title of the World Boxing Council, as the WBC has granted Oleksander Usyk the status of champion in recess, allowing him to recover from his recent injury and supporting him in his attempt to compete in the heavyweight division.
