Undisputed world welterweight champion Cecilia Braekhus will defend her titles against unified super lightweight champion Jessica McCaskill at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland on Friday, April 17, live on DAZN.
Braekhus (36-0, 9 KOs) will put all her 147-pound belts on the line for the tenth time after claiming all of them in September 2014. Plus if the “First Lady” wins she will be breaking the record of Joe Louis of 25 consecutive title defenses.
However, McCaskill (8-2 3 KOs) is confident she can break that streak in Maryland, as the Chicago star has certainly been one of the great success stories in the past year of women’s boxing.
“CasKILLA” recovered from a loss to then-world champion Katie Taylor in 2017 to win the WBC super lightweight crown in October 2018.
Pound for pound star Braekhus is set to make history that night, but McCaskill can become a two-division world champion and continue her winning streak.
