On March 30 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Serhii Bohachuk (23-1, 23 KOs) and Sebastian Fundora (20-1-1, 13 KOs) will meet for the vacant World Boxing Council super welterweight title.
Bohachuk is the number two ranked in the WBC, while Fundora is number 3.
The 6 foot and 6 inches Fundora will have a six-inch height advantage and a 10-inch reach advantage in the fight.
Bohachuk, 28, had a great campaign in 2023 defeating tough contenders. Patrick Allotey in one round and Nathaniel Gallimore in six rounds.
Bohachuk five-fight winning streak since suffering the first loss of his career to Brandon Adams in 2021 helped him prepare for the fight with Fundora. Bohachuk spent most of 2022 in Ukraine with his family while his home country fought a war with Russia.
Fundora, 26, has not fought since he suffered the first loss of his career in April. Fundora was surprisingly knocked out by Brian Mendoza in the seventh round of a fight he was winning handily.
Prior to his defeat, Fundora had defeated quality rivals Jorge Cota, Sergio García, Erickson Lubin and Carlos Ocampo.
Both warriors were face to face for the first time in a press conference and although they were respectful, they did not hesitate to promise a resounding victory.
