Two-time WBC super middleweight world champion David Benavidez, returns to action on Saturday, May 21 against Canadian knockout artist David Lemieux, in a bout where the interim super middleweight title of the World Boxing Council will be at stake, at the Gila River Arena in Arizona.
The winner of the Benavidez-Lemieux fight will be in a great position to challenge the WBC super middleweight champion, Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez, which generates great expectations.
Lemieux comes from defeating Mexican David Zegarra by knockout in two rounds in June of last year. While Benavidez enters the fight after defeating Kyrone Davis last November.
