On March 25th, David Benavidez (26-0, 23 KOs) will face Caleb Plant (22-1, 13 KOs) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
In this bout, the interim title of the World Boxing Council, which Benavidez holds, will be on the line. In addition, the winner must face the unified champion Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez.
Benavidez comes from winning his last fight at the Gila River Arena, against David Lemieux, by technical knockout in the third round.
After losing against Canelo in 2021, Plant made an impressive return to the ring by knocking out former world champion Anthony Dirrell.
A little over a month before this important fight, Benavidez is undergoing a grueling training camp, guided by his father José Benavidez. Plant is also working hard in preparation for a hard-hitting contest, which is unlikely to go the distance.
