To be held this coming Saturday June 18 in the Zócalo of Mexico City, former world champions Mariana “La Barby” Juárez and Ana María “La Guerrera” Torres, as well as “El Rey” David Picasso will be the instructors of the Massive Boxing Class announced the general director of the Sports Institute (INDEPORTE), Javier Hidalgo Ponce.
The announcement was made at the Monument to the Revolution, where the third party of boxers did, with the sports promoters of “Ponte Pila” in a rehearsal with more than 700 people who attended to take the class of just over 30 minutes.
“La Barby”, “La Guerrera” and “El Rey” rehearsed the moments in which they and he will hold the Class next Saturday that seeks to break the Guinness Record as the “Largest Boxing Class in the World, a mark that has the Moscow city with 3,300 participants in 2017.
The general director of INDEPORTE said that during all this time of training and preparation for the Massive Boxing Class, the great former champions Mariana and Ana María, as well as the current champion David Picasso, were the most enthusiastic promoters of the event.
“La Barby, la Guerrera and Picasso are three greats of Mexican boxing, they are also three wonderful people with a simplicity and enthusiasm that I recognize in them,” he said.
He pointed out that the three of them have already studied and learned the training manual for the Class.
“The coordination of the three is necessary because they are going to address thousands of people, so practicing is essential for the success of the event,” he assured.
He emphasized the participation of the promoters of “Ponte Pila” who in some way will be assisting the champions and the champion in matters of communication with the public; as well as carrying out a theoretical class minutes before the event.
“We have three Ponte Pila promoters who will be substitutes for the champions and the champion in case of any eventuality, even if they hold the Class together with them and him in the Zócalo,” he said.
He recalled that to break the Guinness World Record, participants must train for a minimum of 30 continuous minutes of physical activity.
Mariana “Barby” Juárez is a three-time world champion of the World Boxing Council in the flyweight, super flyweight and bantamweight categories, with a record of 68 fights, 54 wins, 18 of them by way of knockout.
Ana María “Guerrera” Torres has a record of 29 fights, 24 of them won, 14 victories by way of knockout, twice super flyweight champion of the World Boxing Council.
“King” David Picasso; he is twice the Youth champion of the World Boxing Council, in addition, champion of North America, he is undefeated with a record of 22 fights won.
This rehearsal was the last one that was carried out in the Monument to the Revolution. The sessions are carried out every day in the various parts of Mexico City in preparation for The Big One.
