Characteristically as a defining hallmark of her long and successful career, the World Boxing Council’s World bantamweight Champion Mariana ‘Barby’ Juárez, has joined a noble cause for the benefit of those who are truly risking their lives during this pandemic, the healthcare professionals.
‘Deportes Unidos por México’ is an initiative of which the World Boxing Council is part, as a common front for this difficult time the country is experiencing and thus recognizing the people who do something extraordinary for us in this quarantine.
“They are now the ones who are fighting, the ones who are competing for it in the ring of life; and now we are as spectators. It happens to me that when I can’t take it anymore and I hear the applause from the public, I get a second breath of inspiration that helps me reach my goal, ” she said.
“Taking care of ourselves we are going to take care of our family, remember that we have to support the people who are fighting for us in the hospitals, the people who are monitoring that all the rules are followed; we would have avoided a second quarantine, but unfortunately we have to live to realize the error. It is difficult but we are going to be positive because it is a fight that we can win and we are going with everything for that victory.”
