WBC female bantamweight champion Mariana “Barby” Juarez is employing cutting edge training in marching towards the summit, for her March fight date against undefeated Spanish rival Eva María Naranjo, in Fresnillo, Zacatecas.
Mariana who has won 51 victories as pro, will make the seventh defense of the crown versus an opponent that doesn`t possess the same vintage experience, but who`s never experienced the bitter dregs taste of defeat.
The world champion, who`s the pride of Santa Úrsula Coapa, in Mexico City decided to take a couple of days to do mountain work at the Peña de Bernal Mountain in Querétaro; to further condition herself for fight night on March 2nd.
“I had been recommended to climb the Peña de Bernal as a complement to my training and we gave ourselves the opportunity to come as a family to get to know and to take advantage of doing some mountain work, because a very complicated defense which is coming,” said the double champion of the world.
“My rival has ‘Maravilla’ Martinez as her representative and he surely will be in her corner. So the challenge is even greater for me and my team, and we are climbing towards it with due seriousness in order for me to continue being the champion of the world.”
The duel between Juarez and Naranjo heads the card of the traditional ‘Sábados de Box’ of Televisa Deportes in the Solidarity Gym; in a mega production of Promociones de Pueblo with the support of Playboy Mexico, also receiving all the facilities of the Municipal Government of Fresnillo, Zacatecas.
