Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez will defend his World Boxing Council super flyweight title against Srisaket Sor Rungvisai on Saturday, June 25 at Tech Port Arena in San Antonio, Texas, in a bout that will be broadcast live worldwide on DAZN.
Rodriguez (15-0 10 KOs) makes the first defense of the belt he won in impressive fashion in February, defeating former world champion Carlos Cuadras to become the youngest reigning world champion in just his 15th pro fight.
The 22-year-old faces a teak tough test, facing twice former champion Sor Rungvisai (50-5-1 43 KOs). “The Thai breaker”was scheduled to face Cuadras, but Rungvisai fell ill and was replaced by “Bam.”
The 35-year-old has a chance at the coveted Green and Gold Belt for the third time, as he first won it in 2013 and then won it back against Roman ‘Chocolatito’ Gonzalez three years later.
