Everything is ready for Asley González and Lulú Juárez to again dispute the World Boxing Council super flyweight belt.
On October 2, 2022, Asley González defeated Lourdes Juárez by majority decision to get the WBC super flyweight title, at the big show in Palenque de la Feria de Tepic.
The Judges saw the match 96-94, 96-94 and 95-95. The then-super flyweight champion Lulú Juárez boxed with precision and accuracy; however, González maintained the lead by landing power shots.
Lulu had won the title against Guadalupe Martinez over two years ago and she successfully defended the title three times prior to this defeat.
It was a wonderful fight, with two lionesses bringing the crowd to their feet and culminating with the crowning of Nayarit’s first world monarch.
So, the date has finally arrived and Asley González and Lulú Juárez will face each other for the second time in what promises to be a thriller.
ASLEY GONZALEZ
I feel very proud to be the first world champion of Nayarit. I was crowned after a great fight and I’m ready for a rematch.
If the first fight was good, the second will be better. I thank “Lulú” Juárez for giving me the opportunity to fight her; however, I am sure that I will keep my title. We are ready for a big fight.
LULU JUAREZ
I took the first fight not as a defeat. I took this experience as learning; it even allowed me to complete projects that I had postponed.
I am ready for the rematch, now as a challenger I feel more relaxed. We invite everyone to watch our fight.
Today both fighters passed the official weigh-in:
Asley González: 51.6 Kg.
Lulú Juárez: 51.8 Kg.
