Ángel Moreno has vowed to become another Spanish world champion, when he takes on World Boxing Council flyweight champion Charlie Edwards at the Copper Box Arena in London on March 23.
The card will be broadcast by Sky Sports in the United Kingdom and by DAZN in the United States.
Moreno, promoted and supported by former middleweight champion Sergio “Maravilla” Martinez, has only lost twice in a 23-fight career and has never been knocked out. Coming from Madrid, Moreno has fought most of his career in his native land, but he insists that he will not be intimidated by the London atmosphere on the day of the fight.
Ángel Moreno commented:
“I’m not going to London for vacations. This is the opportunity of a lifetime. We know each other very well, as we twice sparred. We have shared many trainings together and I think he knows I will be dangerous. If his team thinks this fight will be an easy defense for Charlie, they’re so very wrong.
“I know that Spain will be proud of me after I conquer the green and gold belt. Spanish Boxing is in a very healthy position at this moment and it will be an honor to become the next Champion.
“I am not concerned about that will receive me in London, I have fought in Ukraine and France, and I am 36. I think my experience will be shown in the ring, I have enjoyed the best and most productive training camp of my career.”
