Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, has died aged ninety six at Barmoral Castle, Scotland after a record breaking reign spanning seventy years.
Elizabeth became Queen in 1952, following the death of her father King George VI. He had described Elizabeth and her younger sister Margaret Rose as his Pride and his Joy. Her Coronation was in 1953. Her reign encompassed fifteen Prime Ministers. The first was Sir Winston Churchill.
She was married to Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh for seventy four years. He died last last year aged ninety nine. They are now re-united for Eternity.
At the funeral of Her Father King George, Sir Winston placed a wreath on the coffin. It’s inscription read: “For Valor.” This is the citation on the Victoria Cross, the medal given for the most conspicuous bravery. She emulates this.
The Queen was an approachable person and was tangibly in constant touch with people. She was admired for her dignity, tact and kindness. The patron of hundreds of charities.
Her eldest son is now King Charles III. The baton and the scepter has been passed. God Bless.
