The twice Covid-postponed boxing spectacular returns with a knockout lineup of Emcees who have spent decades describing and covering the biggest nights in Nevada boxing history. They will handle boxing’s premier gala at a brand new venue, the fabulous Resorts World on the famed Las Vegas strip.
Showtime Boxing contributes two high-profile TV boxing commentators to of this year’s Induction, Al Bernstein and Raul Marquez. NVBHOF Founder and veteran radio/TV boxing announcer Rich Marotta adds his expertise to the activities, while fast-rising boxing studio host, and analyst Cynthia Conte brings the female touch to the lineup.
Bernstein is in his 42nd year of television broadcasting, first with ESPN and then Showtime Championship Boxing. With his busy schedule also including calling fights in England, podcasts, and guest appearances, Bernstein has achieved a lofty status in the boxing broadcast hierarchy. He has been inducted into both the International and Nevada Boxing Halls of Fame.
Marquez, a former World Champion at 154 pounds, began honing his broadcast technique shortly after his career in the ring ended. After handling TV boxing for a variety of promoters and networks, “El Diamante” landed at Showtime in 2012, contributing both in English on “ShoBox, the New Generation” and the Spanish-speaking version of Showtime Championship Boxing.
Marotta’s career has included stints as broadcaster for three major league franchises: the Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Raiders, and Los Angeles Clippers. His TV-boxing career included long-lasting stints with Forum Boxing and Top Rank. He was inducted into both the Southern California Sportscasters and California Boxing Halls of Fame. He founded the NVBHOF in 2012.
Conte, a former news producer and occasional on-air presence on KTLA Channel-5 in Los Angeles, parlayed her passion for boxing into a position with RingTV/Ring Magazine, then ringside commentator for Hollywood fight Nights, host of big fight-week preview shows, and now is a big presence in the boxing podcast world with “The Real Fight with Cynthia Conte”, and “Best Women’s Boxing Show… Period”, which she co-hosts with Jeandra LeBeauf in Las Vegas.
