WBC interim middleweight champion Carlos Adames will defend his title against Julian Williams in the main event of a card taking place June 24 at The Armory in Minneapolis.
Dominican Adames (22-1, 17 KOs) will make his first defense of an interim championship he won when he knocked out Mexican Juan Macías Montiel (23-6-2, 23 KOs) in the third round on October 8 at Dignity Health.
Adames wants to stay active while he waits for his chance to face Jermall Charlo.
Williams from Philadelphia will be fighting for the second time at middleweight when he challenges Adames. The former 154-pound champion recently defeated Argentine Rolando Mansilla (18-12-1, 8 KOs) by eight-round unanimous decision on November 5.
