Wilfredo Gomez, from Puerto Rico, considered the best super bantamweight of all timed, defended his crown after defeating Panamanian, Carlos Mendoza, by TKO in 10 rounds. It took place at the Caesar´s Palace in Las Vegas. Mendoza, was a tough cookie, once having been a rival of “Hands of Stone” Duran. But against Wilfredo, the action was halted at 2 and 29 seconds of that mentioned round, after Carlos was dropped hard twice. The Referee was Richard Green, while the Judges were Art Lurie and Duane Ford.
