Puerto Rican Jose Torres retained the WBC light heavyweight championship after defeating Scotland’s Chic Calderwood in just two rounds. Their bout was presented at the Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  The Referee was Teddy Martin. The proud Scot, bitterly disappointed following the defeat, announced his retirement.
