Mexican- Cuban, José Angel “Mantequilla” Nápoles, re-conquered the WBC welterweight championship defeating American southpaw, Billy Backus in the eighth round. The rematch took place at the Inglewood Forum of California. The Referee was Dick Young. The Judges were Larry Rozadilla and Lee Grossman.
