January 5th, 1937.- Two years after debuting as professional, Archie Moore defeated Dynamite Payne by KO in the first round at the Saint Louis Coliseum in Missouri. In a wondrous future, Moore would become light heavyweight world champion, having to wait ten years for his chance. He is considered by many as one of the very best in history, as a light heavy. He built an extraordinary record of 185 victories with 142 KO´s, 23 defeats and 10 draws. Moore, who’s original name was Archibald Lee Wright, also fought for the heavyweight crown without any success. His opponent….Rocky Marciano!
