On August 17th, the WBC Amateur “Citizens and Their Police” Tournament took place at the Mexico City Police venue, specifically at the iconic Arena Tlaxcoaque. This sporting event was a resounding success, marking a significant milestone in the collaboration between the civilian community and law enforcement.
The tournament featured the participation of 25 police officers and 36 civilians, who competed across various categories, both male and female. The tournament format included three elimination rounds, culminating in an exciting final day.
During the elimination phases, a total of 38 matches were held, characterized by a high level of competition and sportsmanship. In the final 13 matches, champions were crowned in each category, showcasing not only the participants’ talent but also the camaraderie between civilians and police officers.
This tournament was not just a display of boxing skills but also an example of the Mexico City Police’s commitment to fostering integration and peaceful coexistence with the community through sports. Arena Tlaxcoaque became a gathering point where mutual respect and healthy competition were at the forefront.
Among the champions were: Angel Santos (Civilian), Diana Cervantes (Police), Darwin Perez (Police), Juan Casañas (Civilian), Arturo Alejandro Hernández (Police), Alison Amaro (Civilian), David Loza (Police), Irving Tinoco (Civilian), Dilan Rodriguez (Civilian), Antonio Sanchez (Police), Santiago Reyes (Civilian), Cuauhtémoc Viquez (Civilian), and Daniel Borbolla (Civilian).
