WBC Cares South Africa hosted a fun activities event in the spirit of Autism Awareness Month.
The Adult Programme for People with Autism (“APPA”) is grounded in the values of lifelong learning.
The APPA was established in 2015 by Yvette Young. They are an NPC and NPO day center and residential facility located in Randburg, South Africa. The facility is geared to young adults with autism who are ‘different, not less’ and who require a little extra care and support to perform everyday tasks people take for granted.
The center seeks to maximize potential and better integrate young adults and assist them through their ongoing development and integration into society through, a multitude of meaningful activities and skills training to help and support these individuals have a better quality of life despite their disability.
WBC Cares South Africa team together with Sean Smith of Smiths Boxing and two of his professional boxers Thulani Mbenge and Aybonga Sonjica visited the center. We provided these young adults with love, care and support through physical mobility training and fun boxing exercises as well as a boxing demonstration from the pros.
Going into the Winter season we will gifted some fun funky socks, sweet treats and WBC Cares merchandise.
