Former world champion Sergio Víctor Palma from Argentina, who suffered from Parkinson’s, died after being hospitalized for several days, due to complications from Covid-19, at the Interzonal General Hospital in Mar del Plata, Argentina.
Sergio, who passed away at age 65, was the WBA super bantamweight champion and had 62 bouts as a professional.
The President of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaimán and every person affiliated to it, mourns this irreparable loss, and we send our deepest condolences to the champion’s family and friends.
