The Boxing Community has lost one of its finest
Longtime California Timekeeper, Willie Arriola, passed away from ALS on April 10, just days short of his 82nd birthday.
Once upon a time…and then, for over 30 years, Willie was a dependable, regular as clockwork fixture at ringside, for countless boxing matches.
Beyond being the consummate professional, Willie was a warm and caring friend. Devoted to the WBC, Willie would give his time, energy, and smile to various WBC Cares events in the community.
Willie’s love of boxing was only matched and surpassed by his love of family. He was married for 43 years and was the proud father of 2 daughters and one son. He has 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Willie will be so very missed, but will forever be remembered for his professionalism, humor, honesty, and genuine kindness. Rest in peace dear, wonderful and always in our hearts friend.
