The 2021 National Popular Games, which take place from October 24 to 29 in Acapulco, Guerrero, have generated great expectation and enthusiasm among young Mexican athletes.
The Popular Games are considered by CONADE (National Commission for Physical Culture and Sports) as part of the national system of competition and a product of the heart, ingenuity and brilliance of its founder Don Pepe Mora. They seek to promote the practice of sport and good nutrition for low-income youth from the various neighbourhoods of the country. In the heat of competitions, children and adolescents have the opportunity to develop themselves through the values that emanate from physical activity.
The 2021 edition, special due to the complicated situation that the world has experienced due to the pandemic, has none the less, summoned more than 3,000 athletes from 23 states of the Mexican Republic in three disciplines: soccer, boxing and martial arts.
The World Boxing Council congratulates everyone involved in these important competitions and wishes the young athletes much success.
