Callum Walsh tonight fights Dauren Yeleussinov, in a 10-round clash for the vacant World Boxing Council Americas Continental super welterweight title, at The Theater in Madison Square Garden.
Walsh comes into this fight after winning a unanimous decision over Ismael Villarrea, overcoming a knockdown during the final round to win by scores of 97-92, 97-92 and 96-93.
He previously fought on August 26, stopping Juan José Velasco of Argentina after the fourth round, and keeping busy, he fought four times in 2023.
Yeleussinov fought on October 29, losing a split decision to Pius Mpenda. In his previous fight on March 21, he stopped Bakhrom Payazov in the second round.
Yeleussinov is the older brother of Daniyar Yeleussinov, who won an Olympic gold medal in 2016 and is undefeated at welterweight, although he is currently inactive.
It’s promoted by 360 Promotions and at the weigh-in, Walsh registered 154 on the scale, as did his opponent Yeleussinov, ready to compete in the match that will be broadcast on UFC Fight Pass.
