Yuliahn Luna and Jessica González in a duel of champions, for the World Boxing Council bantamweight title, this Friday, June 17, at the Esplanade of the Plaza Mayor in Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico.
Yuliahn, double world champion stressed: “I am proud to be with my people, very grateful to fight for them and very motivated. I don’t like to talk, but I am not the same 19-year-old girl she beat.”
“Now I am the absolute champion and although Jessica is a difficult rival, we have prepared ourselves and have done a great job to successfully defend my title; it has cost me a lot.
“I have proven to be a technical and enduring fighter, after each fight I try to study and correct my mistakes.”
Jessica will look for her second triumph as a visitor exclaiming: “It is a golden opportunity, we know each other, we were rivals when we were rookies and I come to repeat the dose.”
The co-star battle is between Mexico and Nicaragua, namely David ‘El General’ Cuéllar and Yader ‘Chocolate’ Cardoza, a disciple of the great champion Rosendo Álvarez.
This Friday both warriors came to the official weigh-in calm and collected. Both registered 116.8 pounds.
