On September 10 at The O2 Arena in London, the WBC, WBA and IBF middleweight champion Claressa Shields (12-0, 2KOs) and the WBO champion Savannah Marshall (12-0, 10KOs), will meet in a long-awaited fight for the undisputed 160-pound championship, while, in the main support fight, Alycia Baumgardner, WBC super featherweight champion, faces IBF and WBO champion Mikaela Mayer.
The rest of the card will feature interesting matches where prominent Olympic fighters will be in action. 2020 Olympic gold medallist Lauren Price, 2020 Olympic bronze medalist Karriss Artingstall and Caroline Dubois, who fought for Great Britain last summer in Tokyo, as well as 2020 US Olympian Ginny Fuchs.
Price from Wales (1-0, 0KOs) will face Timea Belik from Hungary (6-6, 2KOs), returning to the ring three months after her professional debut on June 11. Joining the talented 28-year-old welterweight southpaw is Artingstall, who turned pro two weeks later, will take on experienced Frenchwoman Marina Sakharov (5-16-2, 3 KOs) in a featherweight bout.
Joining Price and Artingstall is her Olympic teammate Dubois, the most experienced of the trio in the pro ranks. Dubois (3-0, 2KOs), is fighting for the fourth time as a professional, when she takes on Bulgaria’s Milena Koleva in a scheduled six-round fight at lightweight.
Houston’s Fuchs (1-0, 1KO), enjoyed a successful pro debut with a fourth-round knockout on the April 9 undercard of Mayer’s ten-round victory over Jennifer Han. Fuchs will now cross the Atlantic to face Gemma Ruegg (5-4, 1KOs) in a flyweight bout.
Also on the show: Portsmouth’s Ebonie Jones (2-0-1) takes on Spain’s Vanesa Caballero (4-15-3) in a featherweight battle; April Hunter (5-1) faces Argentina’s Erica Alvarez (3-6); Londoner Shannon Ryan (2-0) faces Bucha El Quaissi of Spain (3-2-3, 1 KO) in a super flyweight bout; promising super bantamweight prospect Sarah Leigmann (4-0, 1 KO) takes on veteran Bec Connolly (3-15-0); and super welterweight prospect Georgia O’Connor (2-0) will face an opponent to be determined.
