The World Boxing Council is launching a new Mobile Ap, in a strategic alliance with Conexion Facil 2.0 to more easily and efficiently monitor on a global basis, the health and well being of boxers.
It registers, archives and makes available the weights and graduated weight loss in the run up to fights, any injuries, the results of anti-doping tests and more. At the WBC`S Martes A Cafe press conference in Sports and Chips, Mexico City, Conexion Facil 2.0 CEO Andrew Kluger explained:
“The application we`ve developed is a communications platform where all the medical information on all the boxers who are active and those who are retired, are centralized so the WBC has all of this information to follow the health care and benefits needed.
“So, when is the last time you went to the canvass, or got knocked out, or what medication you are taking. For the boxers who are active, the biggest issue is weight management, to make sure they are properly measuring their weight. And there`s also the issue of anti-doping. We start putting upall of this information and it will be on the WBC website next week. Issues including when did you take your vaccines, if you were hospitalized, what medications are those who are already retired taking. It`s the whole gamut of health care.
“You`ve got to stay in touch medically for boxers an ex boxers, especially for those who are sick and need medical attention, or for those who don`t pass an anti-doping test. How do you handle it, to get it rectified? As much information as is possible will be provided to the central office of the WBC, and then their doctors will determine what has to be done as actions proactively.”
