Mike Tyson Invitational: A Boost for the Future of Amateur Boxing in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NV – Recently, the SAHARA Las Vegas hosted the inaugural Mike Tyson Invitational, an event spearheaded by the legendary “Iron Mike” to showcase the rising stars of amateur boxing in the United States.

The tournament brought together 52 boxers between the ages of 9 and 24, providing them with a professional-level platform and global media coverage. Tyson’s objective was clear: to eliminate economic barriers for athletes and restore the prominence that grassroots boxing deserves.

WBC Amateur Support

At WBC Amateur, we joined this great initiative by supporting the efforts of all participants. As part of our mission to foster youth development, we were pleased to contribute with a donation and the medals that recognized the dedication and sportsmanship of the winners in each category.

Notable Distinctions

Among the names that shined on the card were Jayden Navarrete and Maxine Garcia, recipients of the “Will of Steel” award, along with the intense bouts featuring Austin Garcia, Alexis Tangaro, and Mandy Hernandez.

This collaboration between legends, institutions, and young talent reaffirms that the future of boxing is in good hands. Congratulations to the organizers and all the participants!
