Former champion Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramírez, defeated Alfonso López by knockout in the tenth round this Friday at the Galveston Island Convention Center in Galveston, Texas.
After 20 months of inactivity, Ramírez came back dominant, sending López to the canvas in the second and tenth rounds. A big right from the tall Mexican, hit the button and finished the fight.
It was the second light heavyweight fight for Ramirez, who improved his record to 41 bouts with 26 knockouts…and no defeats.
With this triumph the “Zurdo” was crowned NABF light heavyweight champion endorsed by the WBC.
