Two of China’s, and Asia’s top regional cruiserweight pugilists will clash for the vacant WBC Asian Boxing Council 200 pound championship title on the Zhongji Sports promoted boxing event in Shaoxing, China, on Saturday, December 26.
The much-anticipated matchup between Zhaoxin Zhang and Jianzheng Wang is a rematch from their first encounter which took place last November in Fuzhou — ending in a first TKO victory for Wang. Zhang is back looking to redeem himself in this revenge or repeat showdown.
25-year Zhaoxin Zhang, holding a professional record of nine wins, one loss and a draw, will be looking to continue his good reform form having gone on a four fight winning streak since his last loss to Zulipikaer Maimaitiali in January of last year.
For Jianzheng Wang, at 33-years of age, this is his shot at redemption, proof to himself that he can overcome the challenge of Zhang, to become WBC Asia cruiserweight champion and show that the loss to Zhang last year was just a bump in the road to success.
The showdown in Shaoxing is set for Boxing Day. May the best man win.
