Last Wednesday, a fire broke out in the home of double Pan American Games silver medalist Dayana S\u00e1nchez from Cordoba Argentina during which Dayana suffered serious burns and respiratory problems.<\/p>\n

She received immediate emergency medical attention and was swiftly taken to the Instituto del Quemado in Argentina. Her condition is improving, as the swelling in her airways has diminished by 50% and she is being carefully and constantly monitored. Doctors are optimistic that Dayana will make a full recovery. But, she has some way to go. Her condition is still serious as she remains in an induced coma and she is intubated with the respirator.<\/p>\n

In addition to the health crisis, unfortunately Dayana and her family lost absolutely everything in the fire. The Jose Sulaiman Champions Fund has already approved immediate help. We also invite everyone in the close knit world family of boxing to help with much-needed support. All of us unite in prayer for our dear Dayana, a young woman who is outstanding for her talent and charisma and who shows that there is no adversity she can`t overcome. Why”?
