The former middleweight world champion, Savannah Marshall, became the new unified super middleweight champion by defeating American Franchon Crews-Dezurn via majority decision, topping the bill of a card organized by Boxxer at the Manchester Arena in England.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Crews-Dezurn came into this bout as the undisputed 168-pound champion. However, she was outpointed by Marshall, who prevailed on two scorecards 99-92 and 97-93, while a third Judge saw it as a \u00a095-95 draw.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Both fighters arrived having lost only to three-division champion and two-time Olympic gold medalist Claressa Shields. Marshall was defeated by Shields in October of last year, while Crews-Dezurn was bested by her in her pro debut in November 2016.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
