WBC Super Middleweight Champion\u00b4s TimeLine<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The WBC Supermiddleweight Championship was inaugurated on November 7th<\/sup>, 1988.<\/p>\n

On the night when Sugar Ray Leonard challenged WBC Lt. Heavyweight Champion Donny Lalonde, with the aim of becoming a 5 division world champion.<\/p>\n

The two men fought for the WBC 175Lbs.Belt, held by Lalonde, and the inaugural WBC 168Lbs. Championship.<\/p>\n

That night, Sugar Ray Leonard, bravely got up from the canvass to defeat Donny by TKO in 9 rounds.<\/p>\n

The fight took place at Caesar\u00b4s Palace Hotel in Las Vegas. The Referee was Richard Steele, and the Judges were Chuck Giampa, Stuart Kirshenbaum and Franz Marti.<\/p>\n

Leonard, would vacate the 175 Lbs. belt and would face Hearns one year later in a very anticipated unification match that concluded as a draw.<\/p>\n

Many years have happened since then and today, excited by Canelo\u00b4s Homecoming Undisputed title defense against John Ryder, we recall all the WBC Super Middleweight champions in boxing history.<\/p>\n
