WBC Cares: We Are the Good News!<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Many years ago, Don Jose Sulaiman had a dream of using the vast WBC Platform to serve others. And here we are now, with 25 global chapters, all volunteers,\u00a0 united by love and using our global platform to help others. WBC Cares made Jose’s\u00a0 dream a reality.<\/p>\n

Today, was one of our many virtual meetings where WBC Cares\u00a0 Leaders from around the world came together, It is one of the most inspiring moments in life to see so many people from different parts of the world, connected by more than a sport, but also using the principles of that sport to improve the lives of others.<\/p>\n

Whether it’s supplying mentors or delivering supplies, the WBC Cares group embraces each other and the world through a network of people dedicated to service. These officials, boxers and members of the WBC put their efforts where their hearts are, and share innovative plans and actions to infuse many difficult lives with more quality and hope.<\/p>\n

Using our natural resources, our wonderful boxers and the community, Cares goes into youth centers, gyms, hospitals and disaster sites with a message of courage and determination. Our Cares volunteers inspire though\u00a0knowledge that can only be derived from the\u00a0 obstacles they too have faced in life.<\/p>\n

At today’s meeting we had leaders from Thailand, USA, Mexico, Ukraine, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Nigeria, France, Mideast and\u00a0 Canada, representing their latest initiatives, innovations and telling stories of sadness and success. More than that, they renewed their\u00a0commitment to to share their incites and\u00a0 assets with each other, thus strengthening the group and those they assist.<\/p>\n

We believe that influencing even one life in a positive manner is a victory. And programs that range from Women in Prison, to education for young fighters, financial courses and\u00a0 \u00a0blood drives, makes a huge difference. Adaptive boxing which brings otherwise challenged people to a place where they feel powerful; Container Gyms where those who have no access to train can workout, Mental Health Programs guided by the USA Congress to deal with potential suicides among our youth… we do it all. Give us an issue, some WBC members will find a path to a possible\u00a0 solution.<\/p>\n

The main focus is youth. Boxing is a sport composed of many disadvantaged youngsters who need an outlet. They belong in gyms not on the streets. And WBC Cares is ready, willing and able to make sure an outlet is available. Our work is open to all of you in the community. Please reach out and we will gladly reach back.<\/p>\n

The end of the meeting concluded with some photos from 2006 when we began and ended with a video of an amazing\u00a0and modern portable gym created by our\u00a0South African Team. Jill Diamond read a poem about the importance of giving and Christiane Manzur thanked everyone for their gracious participation. We laughed, we shared and we felt gratified.<\/p>\n

We want to thank Jose Sulaiman, and now Mauricio Sulaimon for their trust, their ideals and for being the engine that drives us on. In every act of goodness a mind is changed. As the leader of an orphanage we visited in Acapulco said to our champions, “Now we know we are not alone.” This is our goal. To hug everyone who needs it, one person at a time.<\/p>\n
