The King is Coming Home; Canelo vs. Ryder on May 6th<\/sup> <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Today, the official press conference was held to announce the Canelo VS John Ryder fight, for the undisputed 168-pound championship in the firm grasp of the Mexican superstar.<\/p>\n

The long-awaited card will take place in Guadalajara, Jalisco at the Akron Stadium on May 6, 2023 and will be broadcast by DAZN and Box Azteca (Mexico)<\/p>\n

This card marks the return of Sa\u00fal “Canelo” \u00c1lvarez to fight in his land after 12 years of fighting away from home, a period in which he managed to establish himself as boxing’s greatest figure.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Saul \u201cCanelo\u201d Alvarez<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cI feel very excited after 12 years of not coming home and being able to bring back everything I have achieved during all these years, the truth is that I feel very happy and proud. It is not easy to make an event like this, it is not easy to make a fight of this magnitude, in the end what is wanted is possible, I wanted to fight here in my land, Jalisco; and very happy to be here. I had many offers to fight in many places, but I never thought about it, I always wanted to come here, return to my land, return as the best in the world.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a pride to be here, I do it with my heart, giving people the opportunity to see me fight here motivates me a lot. The first thing I want is for people who can’t buy a ticket or who can’t go to Las Vegas to have the opportunity to see me (in a fight) here in Guadalajara, and to be able to donate a part of the money to a foundation here in Guadalajara. We are going to do this event\u201d,<\/em><\/p>\n

This fight comes at just the right time. It is an honor for me to fight in Mexico. I thank everyone for the opportunity they give me. I have come here to win; I have defeated important rivals and I am ready to become the undisputed champion. Thanks to \u201cCanelo\u201d, we will give them a great fight.<\/em><\/p>\n

It is a historic event for our state. We are sports promoters, and we are very grateful that “Canelo” helps us in this important mission<\/em>.<\/p>\n

What I saw of Sa\u00fal in these last days for me is what best explains who he is, because when you realize what Canelo did to fight in his land, he talks about who he is. The king is back home, \u201dindicated, Enrique Alfaro.<\/em><\/p>\n

Alfaro also thanked the boxer’s entire team for agreeing to give away tickets so that thousands of people can fulfill the dream of seeing a Canelo fight with their own eyes.<\/em><\/p>\n

Mexico had not had massive events with the sport that has brought the most glory to Mexico. Records were broken with the Ch\u00e1vez vs. Haugen fight. Quintana Roo had the first heavyweight fight in the history of this country and now Jalisco will have Canelo vs Ryder for the benefit of a people who love boxing.<\/em><\/p>\n

Saul was born into a working family, and it is great all he has done. He returns after 12 years of not fighting in Mexico as superstar. The World Boxing Council joins this great celebration of Canelo Vs Ryder with great pride, passion, and affection.<\/em><\/p>\n
