American Alycia Baumgardner became the Undisputed champion of the super featherweight division, defeating France`s Elhem Mekhaled by unanimous decision, this Saturday in New York.<\/p>\n

Alycia always took the initiative, landing the most power shots, so much so that in the third round she sent Mekhaled to the canvas twice, creating an important advantage.<\/p>\n

The Judges’ scores were: 99-89, 99-89 and 98-90 for Baumgardner.<\/p>\n

With this victory, Baumgardner improved her record to 14-1, with 7 knockouts, while Mekhaled dropped to 15-2, 3 knockouts.<\/p>\n
