Although the boxer may have a very positive attitude towards his fight, ideally he should not fall into any of the above criteria, since these attitudes or thoughts are an extreme side of confidence and can lead him to have a relaxed preparation. without due effort, underestimating his rivals and therefore an inadequate performance at the time of the fight.

The other extreme of trust is when it exists in little quantity, quality and negligible and the discourse is: “I’m very bad at boxing”, “everyone else is better than me”, “I think I’m not doing anything right”, “I’m probably going to to lose.”

It is important that the fighter is well aware of his capabilities, but also of his limits and his shortcomings, so he can better prepare and feel confident enough to perform well.

The role of coaches, sports psychologists and the boxer’s team is crucial given the polarities of trust, since it will be essential to emphasize that in boxing there are always surprises, that nothing is written, that there are more novice rivals with a level of greater motivation. Therefore, the preparation for each fight should be with a higher level of dedication, without detracting from the fighters he will face and preserving respect and validation for his own effort and merits.

It is necessary to reinforce a healthy confidence for the personal and sporting good of the boxer, since, if it is not done, his capacity for sporting growth is limited.

The boxer’s confidence: how to work with it By: Psychologist Diana Sosa, member of the World Boxing Council Medical Committee It is not uncommon in boxing, […]

[121,120

post-85996","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-main-news","category-news
["GET
