Gritty performance from Sandy<\/strong><\/h2>\n

British fighter Sandy “Medieval” Ryan (5-1, 2 KO’s) defeated Argentine Anahi Ester Sanchez (21-6, 13 KO’s), in what was her third fight of the year, defending her World Boxing Council International super lightweight title for the first time, at Wembley Arena.<\/p>\n

The first half of the fight was efficiently controlled by Ryan. She accomplished this by using her much lighter feet to keep circling the ring, attacking, and then evading.<\/p>\n

However, in the seventh round, S\u00e1nchez regained ground, landing heavy combinations on the champion. Ryan rallied and regained control of the bout in the eighth and ninth.<\/p>\n

Sandy was able to dominate the tenth and gritty final round to claim a unanimous decision victory with the following scores from the judges: Reece Carter 100-92, Anssi Parajoki 98-92 and Jurgen Langos 99-91.<\/p>\n

The fight supervisor was WBC Vice President Houcine Houichi.<\/p>\n
