Stevenson and Concei\u00e7\u00e3o will clash tomorrow<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Newark, New Jersey native Shakur Stevenson will face Brazilian Robson Concei\u00e7\u00e3o this Friday, September 23, at the Prudential Center, home of the NHL’s New Jersey Devils.<\/p>\n

Stevenson, also a WBO champion, won the WBC green and gold belt by defeating Mexican Oscar Valdez by unanimous decision in April at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
\nStevenson led the fight with intelligence, speed and precision, dominating Valdez for most of the fight.<\/p>\n

For his part, the Brazilian Robson Concei\u00e7\u00e3o defeated Xavier Mart\u00ednez by unanimous decision in ten rounds, in a WBC eliminatory duel, held in January at the \u201cHard Rock Hotel & Casino\u201d, in Tulsa, Oklahoma.<\/p>\n

This Friday the official weigh-in of the evening took place. Stevenson weighed in at 131.6 pounds, 1.6 pounds over the division limit. While Concei\u00e7\u00e3o registered 129.6 pounds.<\/p>\n

Stevenson confirmed on his social networks that he will not try to mark the limit of the division so as not to expose his health: \u201cI gave everything. I’ve been pro my entire career and have gained weight, but my body can’t do 130 pounds anymore. My health has to come first. I will go up to 135 pounds in my next fight.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Stevenson vs. Concei\u00e7\u00e3o is a Top Rank promotion and will air on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ at 10 p.m. ET\/7 p.m. m. pt.<\/p>\n
