WBC Cares South Africa<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Jose Sulaiman and Jill Diamond established WBC Cares as a beacon of hope, for children and young people worldwide, many of whom are fighting for their lives, battling life threatening illness.<\/p>\n

WBC Cares visits hospitals, orphanages, schools, community centers to provide toys to children and for Boxing Champions to hug them and encourage them to persevere with all their might. Everything is free and the World Boxing Council absorbs the costs. We believe that children are our future,\u00a0 and we must try our utmost to help those who are up against it struggling against illness or poverty.<\/p>\n

The WBC and WBC Cares are proud of all our Cares Leaders around the world. They are our Army of Angels and work without compensation to berger our sport and the world.<\/p>\n

Today we are featuring: Brad Dayan Norman<\/p>\n

What motivated me to join WBC Cares?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sport and sportsmen and women were a significant influence in my life from an early age and when I became a professional soccer player I realized that I to could make a difference in peoples\u2019 life and influence them in a positive way.<\/p>\n

Sport and the discipline of training and lifestyle choices are fundamental to sporting success and I soon realized that performing in the public domain gave me the opportunity to interact with a wide range of fans and supporters both on and off the field.<\/p>\n

This ability to make a positive difference in people\u2019s daily life gives me pride and purpose.<\/p>\n

The involvement with the WBC Cares family creates an ever greater and more purposeful platform for me to try and make a difference to more people and to assist so many others in a structured and disciplined manner.<\/p>\n

WBC Cares through its world- wide reach and influence exposes me to different cultures and traditions and the ability to learn from the experience of others in the organization.<\/p>\n

What has your particular branch of WBC Cares achieved thus far?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The introduction of various skills and learning programs<\/p>\n

The development of a series of comprehensive learning and education manuals<\/p>\n

The hosting of numerous boxing clinics throughout the country focusing on<\/p>\n

disadvantaged communities<\/p>\n

Various campaigns linked to WBC Cares Monthly event calander including visits to<\/p>\n

youth center for children with autism, guns down campaign for gun safety month, Nelson Mandela memorial boxing tournament, mental skills workshop for mental health awareness month<\/p>\n

Distribution of training gear, equipment and sport clothing<\/p>\n

The construction and deployment of a mobile container gym<\/p>\n

Support and media coverage for local boxers<\/p>\n

What aims should the WBC Cares have for the future?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The organization should continue to strive to make a difference and help people and communities through the sport of boxing.<\/p>\n

The organization has wonderful and dedicated people throughout the world with incredible projects and ideas.<\/p>\n

These initiatives often go unnoticed in circumstances where public awareness and media exposure would enhance the impact of these projects and their effectiveness as well as the ability to deliver more and longer term sustainable and capital – intensive initiatives.<\/p>\n
