{"id":7462,"date":"2018-12-06T22:31:35","date_gmt":"2018-12-06T22:31:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wbcboxing.com\/ibhof-clase-2019\/"},"modified":"2018-12-06T22:39:43","modified_gmt":"2018-12-06T22:39:43","slug":"ibhof-2019-induction-ceremony","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wbcboxing.com\/en\/ibhof-2019-induction-ceremony\/","title":{"rendered":"IBHOF \u00a02019 Induction Ceremony"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><span class=\"s1\">IBHOF \u00a02019 Induction Ceremony<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The International Boxing Hall of Fame of Canastota announced the new members of the Class 2019, which includes: the two division champions Donald &#8220;Lone Star Cobra&#8221; Curry, Julian &#8220;The Hawk&#8221; Jackson and James Buddy McGirt, in the Modern category plus \u00a0welterweight champion Tony DeMarco in the Old Timer category.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Non-participants and observers who will be admitted include: Don Elbaum promoter, Guy Jutras (Judge\/referee), Lee Samuels (publicist) \u00a0and broadcaster Teddy Atlas.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;We are very excited about the Class of 2019. We look forward to honor the new members,&#8221; Executive Director Edward Brophy said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Induction Hall of Fame weekend 2019 will be held on June 6-9 in Canastota, New York. Many events are planned to take place in Canastota throughout the four days of celebration, including a 5 km race, a golf tournament, a meet and greet, a VIP cocktail reception, a parade of champions plus the \u00a0great official induction ceremony at the Hall of Fame Museum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Hall of Fame also launched the name of a posthumous honoree: journalist Mario Rivera Martino in the category of observer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Members of the Boxing Writers Association and a panel of international historians voted for the members.
