Benavidez and Lemieux each seek a ruthless solution<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This Saturday, at the “Gila River Arena” in Glendale (Phoenix), Arizona, David Benav\u00eddez will face David Lemieux, in a fight for the interim super middleweight title of the World Boxing Council, yet only one will,advance to the next stage.<\/p>\n

Benav\u00eddez and Lemieux were face to face at the final press conference, which was also attended by promising Cuban prospect Yoelvis G\u00f3mez and the Mexican Jorge Cota, who will fight a 10-round super welterweight co-main event, and undefeated prospects Luis \u201cThe Twist\u201d N\u00fa\u00f1ez and Jonathan Fierro will also clash.<\/p>\n

No one was mincing words.<\/p>\n

David Benavidez:<\/p>\n

\u201cI have had a tremendous training camp and everything has been perfect. The miles have been run, the rounds have been met and the weight has already been shed. I came extremely prepared for this fight. We both have a lot of knockouts, so I’m looking forward to war.<\/p>\n

\u201cI really want to get in there and win this title. I have a lot of respect for Lemieux and have been watching him since he was young, but he has a lot to worry about with me. I’m faster and stronger, but he has the experience, so this will be a great fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am 100% focused on Lemieux. I am focused on the task in front of me. I can guarantee a big fight and someone WILL get knocked out. None of us wants to go to a decision. People want to see a knockout, and that’s what they’ll get. I’m leaving with the title on Saturday night.”<\/p>\n

David Lemeux:<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you want to become the world champion, you must beat the best guy out there. At this moment, Benav\u00eddez will be in front of me. That’s what I must beat to be the world champion. Everyone knows that Benavidez is a very good fighter, but I think people will see that I am a serious contender in the 168-pound division, when I have that Green and Gold Belt around my waist.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s a big challenge, but I’m confident. I had a tremendous training camp for this fight. We are totally physically and mentally prepared. Benavidez is a good fighter. It’s going to be a great show for fight fans because he doesn’t like to go the distance and nor do I. We’ll see what happens.<\/p>\n

“I don’t run from anyone. I have never avoided a fight. When I step into the ring, I’m the man to worry about. In this fight, there is a solid guy in front of me, but I am confident in my abilities, my strength, and my power. I have a lot of experience in the ring and I will use that on Saturday night.\u201d<\/p>\n
