WBC Interviews: Mauricio Sulaiman<\/strong><\/h2>\n

As part of the already classic WBC interviews series, prepared by Pepe Sulaim\u00e1n, we had the opportunity to talk to our President Mauricio Sulaim\u00e1n about everything that the World Boxing Council performs around a world championship fight.<\/p>\n

The WBC has always distinguished itself by taking special care of the heroes of the ring in its broadest definition, since it is not only responsible for sanctioning fights, but also monitors the gradual weight loss of fighters, conducting anti-doping tests, medical and physical examinations, among many other actions.<\/p>\n

As well as the the fights, there are also charitable events to help the community where the fight will take place. So, there is constant communication with the local commission where the fight will take place.<\/p>\n

On some occasions, the WBC also supports visa paperwork and other procedures that may be required by the fighters and their respective teams.<\/p>\n

True to their style, both Mauricio and Pepe had an excellent talk where they defined multiple scenarios, explained the processes of the different world championship fights, talked about the mandatory fighters and what happens on fight night. This includes the paperwork and procedures that are carried out a few hours before the fighters enter the ring.<\/p>\n

Many times, as fans, we only see when the boxers get into the ring. We don’t know much about the sacrifices they make in the gym, the miles they run, the sacrifices of their family and more.<\/p>\n

Nor is it very common to know about all the work that dozens of people do, giving their best, so that our beloved sport and the health and integrity of those who step into the ring to conquer glory are maintained at the highest possible quality.<\/p>\n

Pepe also asked Mauricio some regular questions that fans may have regarding the weigh in, new programs, rules, procedures and more. So we invite all boxing fans not to miss this valuable interview, which, without a doubt, will enrich our view of the work carried out by the World Boxing Council on a daily basis.<\/p>\n
